Part of our Kerassentials overview. Last checked October 19, 2026.
How to use Kerassentials comes down to one routine from the label: file the nail, shake the bottle, brush the oil on the nail and swab it into the cuticle, four times a day.[1] It is a brush-on oil, not a capsule, and you never swallow it. The vendor counts one 0.5 oz (15 ml) bottle as 30 days, which works out to 120 applications per bottle.[2]
How to use Kerassentials, in short
Apply Kerassentials four times every day, twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon, to clean, dry nails. The vendor's directions add three habits: shake before each use, file the nail surface with an emery board so the oil can soak in, and use a cotton swab to work the oil into the cuticle.[2]
- Wash and dry your feet or hands.
- Lightly file the top of each affected nail with an emery board. Use a separate board for affected nails and throw it away when worn.
- Shake the bottle.
- Brush a thin coat over the whole nail, including the edges.
- Dip a cotton swab in the oil and work it into the cuticle and the skin around the nail.
- Let it dry before putting on socks or shoes, then close the cap tightly.
Wash your hands after each use, and keep the oil away from your eyes.[1]

What do the facts show?
The label and vendor pages set a demanding routine: four applications a day, every day, for at least three months by the vendor's own advice. The table pulls the usage facts into one place.
| Item | What the label or vendor says |
|---|---|
| Form | Oil, 0.5 oz (15 ml), brush applicator[1] |
| How often | "Apply 4 times daily (twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon)"[2] |
| Prep | Shake; file nail surface with an emery board[2] |
| Cuticle | Cotton swab into the cuticle[2] |
| Supply | 1 bottle counted as 30 days, about 0.125 ml per application |
| How long | Vendor: "at least 3 months"; FAQ: results in "around 9-12 weeks"[3][2] |
| Cautions | External use only; avoid eyes; do not ingest; stop if irritation; keep from children[1] |
| Cost per day | $1.63 on 6 bottles, $2.30 on 3, $2.80 on 2 with shipping (checked October 19, 2026) |
Three points stand out. First, the vendor's three-month advice is longer than its 60-day refund window, which runs from delivery.[3] If you want the refund option, you will have to judge results before the advised trial ends.
Second, the time frame is short next to prescription care. The American Academy of Dermatology says prescription nail solutions are applied once a day, usually for 48 weeks, and a clear toenail can take a year or longer to grow out.[4] Plan in months, not weeks.
Third, the filing step matters for any nail oil. Thick nail plates block most topical products; in a lab test on nail pieces, nonprescription antifungal solutions reached nail fungus far less than a prescription solution.[5] Whether the routine produces results with this oil is unknown, as our does Kerassentials work page explains.
A sample daily schedule
The label only says twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. One way to space the four coats evenly is shown below; shift the times to fit your day.
| Slot | Example time | Steps |
|---|---|---|
| Morning 1 | 7:00 am | File lightly, shake, brush nail, swab cuticle |
| Morning 2 | 10:30 am | Shake, brush nail, swab cuticle |
| Afternoon 1 | 1:30 pm | Shake, brush nail, swab cuticle |
| Afternoon 2 | 5:00 pm | Shake, brush nail, swab cuticle |
How many bottles the routine needs
At 30 days per bottle, the vendor's own three-month advice takes three bottles. The 3-bottle package is $207 ($69 each) with free US shipping, and the 2-bottle package is $158 plus $9.99 shipping, which covers only 60 days (checked October 19, 2026). US orders ship in 5 to 7 working days, so allow for that gap before the first coat.[6]
A few practical habits help you keep going. Set phone reminders for the four slots, keep the bottle somewhere children cannot reach, and photograph the nail every four weeks in the same light.
What should you check before buying?
Check five things before you order, because the routine is long and the refund has conditions.
- A diagnosis. Have the nail tested. Psoriasis and injury can look like fungus.[4]
- Allergies. Both labels list almond oil and label B lists walnut oil; tea tree and lavender oils can cause rashes. See our Kerassentials side effects page.
- Time. Can you apply it four times a day, every day, for three months or more?
- The label you get. Two versions exist, with 9 or 17 ingredients. Our Kerassentials ingredients page compares them.
- Refund terms. 60 days from delivery; you email support, then mail back all bottles, empty or not, plus the packing slip at your own cost (checked October 19, 2026).[3] Decline upsells you did not plan for. Prices are on our Kerassentials price page.
Our take
The Kerassentials routine is simple but heavy: four coats a day, nail filing, and months of use with no published proof that this oil works. If you try it, follow the label exactly, patch-test first, take dated photos, and mark your 60-day refund deadline on a calendar. If the skin reacts, or the nail is painful, red or swollen, stop and see a doctor. A tested diagnosis first will save money whichever route you choose.

Frequently asked questions
How many times a day do you apply Kerassentials?
The label says four times daily, twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. Brush it on the nail and use a cotton swab to work it into the cuticle each time.
Do you file your nails before using Kerassentials?
Yes. The vendor says to file the nail surface with an emery board first, so the oil can soak into the nail. Use a separate board for affected nails, and file lightly so you do not damage the skin around the nail.
How long does one bottle of Kerassentials last?
The vendor counts one 0.5 oz (15 ml) bottle as 30 days. At four applications a day, that is about 120 applications, or roughly 0.125 ml each time.
Can you put socks on after applying Kerassentials?
The label gives no drying time. Letting the oil dry for a few minutes before socks or shoes keeps more of it on the nail and less on the fabric.
Can you swallow Kerassentials?
No. The label says external use only and do not ingest, and to seek medical help if swallowed. Label B contains camphor, which is toxic if swallowed, so keep it away from children.
